NAIFA Advocacy Gets Results on the SECURE Act On May 15, nearly 600 agents and advisors participating in NAIFA’s Congressional Conference visited their members of Congress and asked them to pass legislation to encourage more Americans to save for retirement and ease restrictions on companies offering retirement plans to their employees. Eight days later, the House of Representative passed the Setting Every Community Up for Retirement Enhancement (SECURE) Act in an overwhelming 417-3 bipartisan vote. This is a big win for advisors who work with individuals preparing for retirement or small businesses that offer or would like to offer retirement plans.
