Legacy Story | Bob Brown, CLU and Rebecca Brown Schulter
My father, Bob Brown, was fortunate enough to join the Union Central/Lester Rosen Agency in Memphis in 1972. The culture at the time was that, in order to be a professional, you needed to join your professional organization. He saw the opportunity to be a part of something greater than himself. He joined NAIFA right away. I grew up going to NAIFA meetings as my dad went through the chairs, and I sang the National Anthem at the National Conference in Las Vegas when he was inducted as president in 2004—long before I joined the business and became a NAIFA member myself. I joined my dad in the business four years ago and joined NAIFA right away. The culture that was there when my dad started 45 years ago prevails in our agency today. I am proud to be a part of an organization with such strong roots, and I look forward to giving back to this industry for many years to come, just as my dad has done.
