IFAPAC Mission

IFAPAC Mission

The Insurance and Financial Advisors Political Action Committee (IFAPAC) is the political advocacy arm of NAIFA. Because NAIFA and similar organizations are prohibited by law from making political contributions, IFAPAC was created to allow contributors to combine their financial support to candidates who understand and are supportive of NAIFA’s legislative priorities.

IFAPAC seeks to advance the legislative interests of NAIFA members on both the state and federal levels, preserve a favorable governmental climate, and promote the best interests of consumers by supporting the campaigns of carefully selected candidates for elective office.

NAIFA created a federal political action committee in 1966. State chapters began forming state level PACs in 1970. IFAPAC was and still is the association’s strongest response to the need for vigorous, effective representation on behalf of NAIFA members at its local, state and federal chapters. IFAPAC’s political activity is an important part of NAIFA’s advocacy programs. However, as an organization, IFAPAC does not lobby on federal legislative matters. This is the responsibility of NAIFA’s government relations experts.
