August 2018 | Inaugural Issue of Monthly NAIFA Leaders
We’re pleased to launch the inaugural issue of NAIFA Leaders, a monthly e-newsletter designed exclusively for NAIFA chapter leaders and field staff.
We recognize you receive a number of emails from NAIFA each month, and our goal is to minimize that number with a monthly digest of NAIFA news that you can use to be the best leader you can be.

Empowering Local Affiliates in the Modern NAIFA Structure: Webinar, Aug. 28
Local affiliates have inquired how to prepare and operate in the new chapter structure, and how to ensure continuity and growth in their communities.
Please join us for a webinar at 2 p.m. EDT, Tuesday, Aug. 28, to discuss next steps and hear practical suggestions from other associations. The webinar will focus on empowering affiliates to grow and prosper while working cooperatively with their state association. State leaders are welcome and encouraged to attend.
Join your colleagues at the National Leadership Meeting at P+P
State and Large Local Presidents, National Committeepersons and Executives are invited to attend the NAIFA Performance + Purpose National Leadership Meeting from 2-5 p.m., on Thursday, Sept. 13.
Please join NAIFA President-Elect Jill Judd for this content-rich, action-packed session presenting insights and strategies for a satisfying leadership experience and successful year. This interactive session will cover the following:
NAIFA 20/20 Implementation
Planning and engaging members throughout your state
Bringing NAIFA to underserved markets
Concepts of contemporary volunteering
Processes for team accountability
Methods for expanding your skills and deepening your networks
We look forward to having your input at this memorable event. As Andrew Carnegie once said, “No man will make a great leader who wants to do it all himself, or to get all the credit for doing it.”
Is your state looking to host a caucus at Performance + Purpose? We now have three rooms and three room setups for your meeting needs! To sign up, review the list of dates, times and meeting room set ups and select the slots you need.
Your Opinion: Livestreaming Education
We need your feedback as we consider new ways to design modern member experiences.
With the modernization that comes with NAIFA 20/20, we will leverage the opportunities that livestreaming technology affords. We are investigating new ways to deliver real-time and on-demand education that knows no geographical boundaries to NAIFA members.
This month's survey focuses on the exciting potential to livestream educational sessions so members have access to NAIFA’s education offerings regardless of their location and the type of device they are using.
Launching Soon: Limited & Extended Care Planning Center
NAIFA will soon roll out the Limited and Extended Care Planning Center (LEC Planning Center), designed to be the first clearinghouse of information about all aspects of long-term care. NAIFA, along with the Center's founding partners, is bringing together all the information, tools and resources a financial advisor would need to know about this important topic.
Once the Center is launched, NAIFA members will be able to access it as part of a beta test group through December 2018. NAIFA leaders will be the first to have access to the Center, following a "Welcome to the Limited and Extended Care Planning Center" product tour to be held at the end of September.
Each month, we will highlight initiatives to undertake together to help attract new members and recognize the outstanding work of all our members.
Additionally, we recognize that we can't put everything we want to communicate in email. In addition to this newsletter, we are establishing monthly Leadership webinars where we will share what's new at NAIFA so you can hear it first.
The State on Top Congratulations NAIFA-New Jersey for recruiting NINE new members in July!
The Member Recruiter Ribbon is premiering at P+P this year! This berry-colored ribbon will show off your commitment to NAIFA membership growth when you sponsor one member between July 1 and September 10! BONUS, if you recruit more than one, we are adding a little neon green to your ribbon line up as well. Get excited and keep recruiting!
Launching Soon: Advisor Ambassador Program
Mark your calendars for a new recruitment program focused on attracting and activating early-career advisors.
